The Podium Camp 2008

So yadayada... The camp was postponed to the 25 & 26th April 2008... Everybody had fun and ended up half-dead after the camp!! =)

Day 1:
Everyone reported @ 6pm. And yea, briefing. Followed by it, was WARFARE! Nice team spirit from what I could see. Water bombs were flying all over. Almost everybody got wet including the innocent squad leaders! >.<
Next, the sharing session was over and everybody proceeded to the basketball court. Spooky spooky stories! And in fact, some of the stories were real okay! The night walk started at 12.15am. (cos we had to wait for things to be prepared). It lasted till around 1.40am and the POLICE came in 3 patrol cars! Apparently they thought something bad had happened and there were even dogs with them! Okay, for those who missed it, so sorry... We didn't want it to happen either? But for those who volunteered to go first for the night walk, very brave yea? Hope they really enjoyed the "walk". So the day ended around 3am after Mr C's talk. (Who was never there!) Then everybody couldn't sleep and just roamed around. About 3+, Clement ordered Mac for those who wanted, and in less than 1/2 hour, it was delivered. BUT almost all who had ordered food were sleeping away! I shall not mention how "easy" was it to wake them up, especially.... =)

Day 2:
Breakfast @ 8.30 am - Roti Prata Kosong (w/o eggs) with Milo). After that, it was Whacko! Those who weren't whacked, had to perform a task assigned by Mr Chacko. Take a look at the pics below and you'll know. =) Finally, it was Murderer. Everybody had to figure out how the murder had happened and perform it. However, all 4 groups didn't get it right yea? So after knowing the truth performed by Katherine and Ghis.... It was end of The Podium Camp 2008.

Debunked and everybody went home with sleepy eyes! Sleep well guys!

To the J2's! The camp was a success! GOOD JOB! Especially the President, Ryan.

Debaters

So it was the Public Speakers who stole the show in school. But we must not forget that the debaters were preparing hard for their Dorothy Chong and NTU Debates! They didn't win, but they certainly did their best yea? Trying to speak in E-N-G-L-I-S-H for 8 minutes.

Though we didn't perform up to expectations, we believe you debaters can redeem yourself in the next few debate competitions!
You guys CAN DO IT, and you WILL DO IT!

NE show by J1 Public Speakers

Hmmm... For International Friendship Day, the J1 Podium Public speakers had to perform a short skit of 5 minutes. What we can say is, WELL DONE! Consider that they are doing it for the 1st time. However, it comes with many trainings, rehearsalSSS and some scoldings that produce a good one yea? YOU GUYS CAN DO IT!

Some pictures of the skit....

CCA Fair

We had 2 CCA fairs.

For the first CCA fair, about 20 people signed up. BUT WOW, 5 people turned up ONLY for the 1st session. T_T IT GOT WORSE, with only 1 regular supporter turning up for all the other sessions. Okay, anyway it's for the PAE only, not a big matter.

As for the SECOND CCA fair, we had about 50 people signing up! A huge difference right?? Furthermore, we have around 35 people turning up for it. A success indeed. KUDOS TO the J2s who worked hard for the CCA FAIR! Take a look at how the J2s had slogged to pull the J1s in...

2nd Fair...

Ali playing the bagpipe.

NTU Pre-World's 07 @ NTU

ALOHA! NEW UPDATES!
SRJC Podium members helped out the Pre-World's Debates @ NTU for 3 days during the December holidays.... Basically, being a helper, we had to reach NTU at around 8am++ and be helpers all the way until night fell...
It was indeed a good exposure for us as there were many debates squad representatives from all over the world. There were the University Of London Team, UNSW, etc.... So, indeed a wide exposure! Anyway. I'll let the pictures do the talking....
